Neck Lift Prices
Neck lifts or sometimes termed, as cervicoplasty is a procedure that enhances the neck’s visual appearance. This procedure is usually done to address a combination of fat and loose skin or muscles on the neck area.
The operation itself lasts 2 to 3 hours while the exact procedure varies depending on your desired results or personal options. In order to undergo this operation, you must be physically and mentally healthy. There are 2 treatment options for this, botox injection and neck liposuction or fat elimination. There will be an incision made under your chin or around the ear area to access the neck muscle or any fat in the area. The neck muscles will then be tightened and the surfeit fat removed. This can be done by cutting the fat out or to remove it by liposuction.
After the neck’s muscles have been tightened and the fat is removed, the skin will then be re-draped. Excess skin will be cut out and the wound closed with sutures. These sutures may be the removable or dissolvable ones so make sure to ask your doctor. There will be a drain placed under the skin to collect fluids that may accumulate and make your swelling or discomfort more pronounced. If a drain is used, then it may take 1 or 2 days before it can be removed. Specific instructions will be given to you if it has to remain in place for more than 1 or 2 days.
The type of anesthesia that you will use will also be discussed with your doctor. If you prefer to remain unconscious during the course of the whole procedure then you might want to request for a general anesthesia. Otherwise, you can also choose to be just sedated with a local anesthesia applied on your neck. The level of comfort you want to attain during the procedure must always be taken into consideration when you’re discussing what anesthesia to use with your doctor.
There will also be a compression bandage applied on the cuts to help ease the swelling. You will be advised to wear this the whole day through the night for a minimum of 5 to 7 days. After that period, you can wear the bandage only at night. Make sure to follow your physician’s specific instruction for proper recovery.
The complications and risks associated to neck lifts are swelling, bruising and tightness or burning feeling on the neck area. This may last for several days or even the first few weeks though this is a normal part after the operation so undue concern is not necessary.
After the operation, a lot of people can go to work after 10 to 14 days. If you plan on doing any strenuous activities for the coming weeks after that period, you will be advised to have it postponed for at least three more weeks to ensure that the wounds have healed fully and does not reopen again.
The price range for this procedure is $3000 to $15000 basing on different locations, surgeons and hospital fees.
